Guidelines

The Herbert W. Hoover Foundation Funding Focus includes issues related to:

  1. Community
  2. Education
  3. Environment

The Herbert W. Hoover Foundation generally does not fund:

  1. Annual Campaigns
  2. Endowments 
  3. Fundraisers
  4. Pass-through Organizations (Umbrella Organizations)
  5. Reimbursement Funding
  6. Start-up Organizations

Grant Application Process 

1.  Submit a Letter of Intent to the Foundation via USPS mail.  The Letter of Intent is a 1-2 page document that includes a brief overview of the project to be considered, the funding requested and any other pertinent information.

2.  Upon receipt and review of your Letter of Intent, you will be notified by the Foundation to apply online through the website.

3.  The Foundation will acknowledge receipt of your submitted grant application via a reply email or phone call.

4.  You will be notified by the Foundation after the Trust Committee Meeting in regards to the action taken on your submitteed proposal.  The Trust Committee typically meets 2-3 times per year.

Note

1.  Follow up reports regarding the funded project are required.

2.  The Foundation should be recognized in press releases and news items.

3.  Incomplete applications will be returned to the submitting organization without review by the Trust Committee. 

4.  Notify the Foundation if the funding goal has been reached prior to the Trust Committee's decision, or if the project has been cancelled.
